To ensure the security of our networks, the Information Technology Division is disabling “legacy"networks that have a pre-shared key (password).

Starting January 1, 2017, 10-digit dialing will be required for all calls, which means dialing “1-555-555-5555” instead of “555-5555,” even for a local call. If you try to complete a local phone call with a 7-digit phone number, your call will not connect.
All school administrators can now review and submit time approval from anywhere you have internet access by using LAUSD’s Virtual Private Network (VPN). VPN allows users to securely sign on to SAP from any location. For instructions on using VPN, please visit http://achieve.lausd.net/vpn
It is vital for all users to install the new LAUSD root certificate for every web browser on every device you use at LAUSD. Web browser vendors like Firefox, Safari, Explorer, Chrome and others have all announced that they will stop accepting the old certificates, so installing the new certificate will allow you to continue accessing the web securely.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Please make sure your employees know that the Information Technology Division (ITD) will be conducting maintenance on Friday, November 11 - most systems/services will be inaccessible. If there are any planned trainings, etc. please plan accordingly around this scheduled shutdown.
Have you ever had a meeting at school where your visitors needed guest access to connect to your school’s internet wirelessly? Provide your visitors “wireless guest access.”
The Information Technology Division (ITD) has scheduled an upgrade to SAP for October 8, 2016. With this upgrade comes enhancements to SAP including new functionalities, etc. The system will be inaccessible from 5 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016 until 6 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 while we conduct this upgrade. Please share with your staff, if needed.
Bulletin 2424 regarding Website Development and Management has been updated in ELibrary. We have also created a new Website Services page to help guide schools and offices to the services we provide.
As best practice, students should be instructed to reset passwords at the beginning of each semester. If you have not done so already, please have your students reset their Student SSO passwords as soon as possible. Review tutorials and go to Mylogin.lausd.net when you are ready to reset passwords.
As District employees, we are active gatekeepers for IT security in the District. Only with your awareness and constant vigilance will we be able to keep our District’s data properly secured. In an effort to minimize and reduce the impact of these phishing threats, ITD has implemented a feature within the District’s email system.
