The Newman Nutrition staff, along with Trucking, work together to deliver about 140,000 meals to 190 schools on a daily basis. Whether there are shortages of personnel, product, or equipment, the team makes it happen to serve our customers. We are proud of all the NNC Staff for their teamwork!
On Wednesday, April 5, Food Services Director Joseph Vaughn visited Nimitz Middle School to observe their Hot Supper Meals Program. Mr. Vaughn was extremely pleased to see how many students were in line to receive a hot meal. Cafeteria Manager, Nicole Anthony, explained to Mr. Vaughn that participation has gone up tremendously and that her students were very happy with the new hot meals.
Cesar Chavez Learning Academies: Collaboration at Work!
The Café LA team at Chavez LA works very cohesively and in collaboration with each other to serve and support four academies, four administrators and four serving times five days a week! Lead by FS Manager Marlene Lundquist, the team
starts early to get BIC ready and continues their hard work throughout the rest of the day.
On Thursday, March 23rd, the LA Trade Tech College “Construction Career Awareness Day” was a success! Over 1,500 students from various high schools had the opportunity to network and explore possible construction career options and learn about other trades such as culinary and cosmetology. Students ended their tours with a nutritious lunch provided by the Food Services Division.
