Food Services Division Director Joseph Vaughn was recently featured in an article by Food Management, a media organization that features trends, best practices, products and solutions for noncommercial food service professionals. The article included Q&A with Mr. Vaughn that highlighted the promising work being done in Food Services to both decrease costs and increase revenues, including creating cycle menus, the hot supper pilot, and the flavored milk study.
A Hero in L.A. Unified. Congratulations to Timikel Sharpe, Food Services Division Deputy Director, for being chosen as one of five individuals recognized by the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) as a 2017 School Nutrition Hero “for their efforts as positive role models in school nutrition.” Ms. Timikel was chosen for her work in developing transition homes in Montgomery, Alabama, for homeless families.
